The South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy Library is housed on-campus and offers its facility and services to the public and all South Carolina State Law Enforcement.

 

Services

Library services are provided exclusively by appointment Monday through Friday. Visitors may come to the CJA Library for services such as:

  • Reference Support
  • Research Assistance
  • Proctoring
  • Interlibrary Loans

The facility is used for studying, computer access, Wi-Fi, printing, photocopying, and group meetings. Also available are circulating collection of books and video materials and a non-circulating collection of periodicals and reference material.

 

Policies

  • Academy staff/students and Certified Law Enforcement personnel employed within the state have direct borrowing privileges.
  • Constables must have SLED approval to borrow restricted materials and otherwise receive the privileges of the general public.
  • The public (including military personnel throughout the state), may borrow materials via interlibrary loan from their own university/college/public library.

 

Closings

The Academy is closed the weeks of the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. In addition, the CJA Library will be closed on days designated by Richland County government as closed due to "Hazardous Weather" conditions.
